Our thoughts are reflected in our choices recreated in our actions – Omoakhuana A. Imoisili

So, I recently published an eBook + Audiobook on mindset, THE FORTE: A GUIDE TO BUILDING A BEAUTIFUL MIND AND SPIRIT. Now, marketing and promotion of products is not really my strong suit and I am still finding my feet in this terrain.

Suffice it to say that this is one area I have avoided for the most of my 9 – 5 career journey. I just never saw myself as one who could convince people to buy products or services.

Little did I know that I would get to this point in my life where I would become an entrepreneur and marketing would have to be my strongest ally in the success of my business.

Now, when I published the book online, I expected it to magically sell itself.

Sure I did some marketing and promotion on it but truth be told I didn’t really enjoy doing it. I thought it stressful and difficult.

I loved doing the writing and production part but the marketing to me was a really big deal.

Anyways, because I already had a fixed mindset that I was no good at marketing, I never excelled in it. At first, I got poor sales for my book and I was beginning to allow the fear of failure creep into my mind thinking I had guffed.

Now, this was a challenge for me as I really couldn’t understand the reason for the poor sales. I didn’t realize that my inability to market my book well was the reason for this.

However my coach was very instrumental to my re-orientation. He made me understand that my book wasn’t only a great one but this has given me an authority as an author in this field…a key point I had failed to notice. I felt the figure in my bank account equated my success.

It wasn’t until I started visualizing and seeing myself for the success that I am that it started reflecting in my life. I started getting sales and commendations on the book and even my daily Instagram posts.

It is our choices…that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities – J. K. Rowling

Now, seeing myself as a success and a published author made me more confident and this reflects each and every day in my life and in what I do.

I believe more in myself because for me, the game has changed. I am beginning to understand the sales and marketing part of business and I tell you it is working well for me.

Knowledge is power indeed.

The best of me is yet to unfold and I can tell you I am super excited about what I am about to launch soon.

You are the choices you make and the reality you see for yourself is what is going to play out.  Be  bold and confident in whatever you do. Sure it may seem like unfamiliar ground at first but that is not enough reason for you to back out.

Albert Camus did say, “Life is the sum of all your choices”.

You are the choices you make

Hang in there and push on. Others that have succeeded didn’t have two heads or four hands.

They were only determined, focused and worked hard thereby achieving their own success.

You always have two choices: your commitment versus your fear – Sammy Davis Jr.

Having broken the chains of fear I had for marketing and equipping myself with the required knowledge to excel in it, I am more confident now in my business.

Life happens to us the way we choose to let it happen.

You can change the direction of your life if it isn’t your desired path. Stop blaming the circumstances that befall you. Challenge the unacceptable and change it if you can. If it is something you have no control over, then let it go.

There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them – Denis Waitley

Never let fear get the best of you. Visualize the big picture and work towards becoming the YOU that you see in your mind. At the end, we are responsible for the choices we make and the life we live.

Life has nothing to do with our choices. Sure, unfortunate things happen… we are faced with hardships and difficulties…trials and temptations but still, we ALONE HAVE THE ABILITY TO SHAPE OUR LIVES THE WAY WE WANT despite whatever situation.

No one is to receive the praises or blames for how our lives turn out except us. Sure other people may have been instrumental in the course of our journey but all they did was either one of two – encourage/discourage, support/mock, uplift/crush, your dreams and your life.

It is your responsibility to choose the road you travel. Be it good or bad, it is your choice and on your head would rest the crown of success or the crown of sorrows and regrets.

One’s philosophy is not best expressed in words…it is expressed in the choices one makes… and the choices we make are ultimately our responsibility – Eleanor Roosevelt

Don’t let fear rub you of your amazing destiny. Don’t let the challenges of life rub you of your beautiful future. They are only temporary. You are the only constant thing in your past, present and future.

Be bold enough to make the right choices. You can do this! All you need do is just believe in yourself.

Thanks for reading. I hope you found it really interesting and inspirational.

So, what choices have you made or refrained from making out of fear and how do you plan to rectify them while you still can?
