BOTOX OR THE MOST VALUABLE SMILE APP, WHICH IS YOUR PICK?

“As soon as you Botox your smile lines away, you lose part of your identity”.

– Nigel Barker

Botox is often the number one choice of most women particularly celebrities to get rid of facial wrinkles. It is the societal belief that this product is the best remedy to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and it has proven to work time and time again hence its predominant use.

However, I beg to proffer a more suitable, simpler and natural way to get rid of these fine lines and wrinkles that seem to “taint” our facial beauty. It is one most effective, painless, cost-free method ever and the best part is you already have this wonder drug.

To make it simpler to explain, I am going to give some guidelines on how to induce it if it doesn’t come naturally. I wrote a Facebook post on this a while back but would like to share in this blog post too. So, here goes….

Beautiful and Gorgeous Ladies, I present to you the

THE AMAZING SMILE APP

So, there is this great and amazing app that works wonders. It has such great and incredible features and it’s super easy to use. It’s called the SMILE APP. Ever heard of it before? Sure you have.

God installed it in every one of us but we don’t use it as much as we should. The awesome thing about this app is despite the fact it doesn’t cost a dime, it just as easily brightens your day as it does another and it has NO DOWNSIDE.

This app changes your world. It instills in you so much self-confidence, positivity and the ability to believe in yourself. You suddenly feel you can do anything. It instigates you to get started on those procrastinated dreams and goals set a long while back.

It makes life more wonderful as it gives you the power to color your world beautiful. It makes you rewrite your story.

Remember that quote, “Keep smiling and be happy. It drives people crazy”? That is another great feature of this app. It makes you feel untouchable – the power of the smile app.

No matter how many lemons life throws at you, you don’t just cut it open and suck it dry… Naaaaa….You make lemonade. Take a chill pill and sip.

A smile is the most beautiful gift you could give because it has the ability to change lives.

Because of your smile, someone may decide to give life another chance and let go of that suicide idea.

Because of your smile, someone may have hope again.

Because of your smile, the obstacles to achieving that goal is removed.

How can a smile do all these? You may wonder. It is because smile rubs off on others. It causes a ripple effect that makes your world a happy one and this attracts others. It makes you more friendly, lovable and approachable. Most importantly, it makes you impact positively on the lives of others effortlessly.

“Never frown because you never know who is falling in love with your smile” – Piankaa

I came across an article earlier this morning, http://tinyurl.com/j5tx2q2 and I must say it was indeed, an interesting read. Louise Atkinson, beautifully wrote about Anne Dunhill, a 68-year-old woman often mistaken to be in her 50’s because of her beautiful smile and youthful looks.

What is Anne’s secret? Not Botox but facial massages and exercises initiated by facial fitness guru, 86-year-old Eva Fraser.

Louise puts it like this: “Every morning, while her bath is running, Anne Dunhill spends ten minutes grinning and grimacing in the bathroom mirror. She pulls on a pair of white cotton gloves and massages her face, pinches her ears, tugging and wiggling them, and contorts her features into a bizarre sequence of expressions.”

And these exercises Ann does are based on the theory Eva learnt in the eighties as Louise writes, “that muscles of the face can be retrained, just like any other muscles, to become firm and strong through structured exercises — tiny movements of the eyebrows, lip corners and jaw”.

To understand how this exercises work, please read Louise Atkinson’s article found in this link, http://tinyurl.com/j5tx2q2.

Now, the point of mentioning this article here is to show you that making the best of your facial muscle and always turning that frown into a smile beats the hell of using Botox or any other cosmetic surgery to enhance your facial beauty.

I did mention in a previous article I posted a while back,  http://tinyurl.com/grbtka2 that beauty begins from within before radiating to your external features. Feeling beautiful has to begin from inside of you and not the amount of Botox you put on your face to get rid of fine lines.

Smiling is the best and most effective way to stay youthful and beautiful always. While science cannot say for certain if the number of muscles used to smile is less or more than that used to frown, (owing to the popular saying that 43 muscles are used to frown against 17 used to smile), I do believe in the logic that a smile always wears the crown.

Have you ever laughed or smiled so much that you feel pains in your facial muscles? Well, I have experienced that time and time again and I often qualify this as facial exercises…….Lol…..

Botox has its harmful sides. Did you know that it is gotten from botulinum toxin and it is so dangerous that “Just one gram of botulinum toxin could kill over a million people. Two kilograms could kill the entire human population of Earth”? (medicalnewstoday.com)

pic203

It has side effects “such as infection, inflammation, swelling, redness, bleeding and bruising. Some of these symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction; other allergy symptoms are itching, wheezing, asthma, a rash, red welts, dizziness and faintness. Also, dry mouth, fatigue, headache and neck pain have been reported. You may have heard of other side effects as well, such as numbness, droopy eyelids, muscle spasms or twitching, and migration of the substance”. (allaboutvision.com)

Why subject yourself to dangerous procedures when you can just as easily stick to a more natural method such as smiles or regimens of facial exercises?

Carine Roitfield said, “I don’t like Botox. It makes a very strange forehead”.

Smiles on the other hand are harmless. Genuine and happy smiles have only been known to cause happiness and ripple effects of joy.

Let people see you and commend you on your youthful and joyful looks just as Anne Dunhill enjoys. Leave them guessing if the looks and smiles they see on your face is as a result of Botox or genuine happiness and confidence that radiates from your heart.

Stevie Nicks said, “I had Botox and I hated it. For Four long months, I looked like a different person”.

Positive comments, commendations, compliments boosts self-confidence and self-love and you are all the more pleased because you are team natural all the way, not subjected to artificial enhancements. It goes to show how very proud you are of yourself confirming the beautiful words of this quote, “Beauty is being the best possible version of yourself on the inside and out”.

The world which has socially accepted Botox use for cosmetic surgery still goes ahead to blast the users with snide comments especially when they are the talk of the “social media”. Celebrities often fall for this more times than they can count.

Be yourself

Hence I say, “At the end of the day, it’s your life. If you turn out good, the world celebrates you and with you (not minding how you achieved it). If bad, they abandon you (even if they gave you the advice that led you to doom). Just be you and follow your heart”.

You can never go wrong with a smile. We all age each day but we can reduce the rate at which the ageing process occurs.

Julianne Moore said, “I don’t know why women do Botox. It doesn’t make them look younger, It just makes them look like they had work done. You are not going to look the same as you did at 25.

There is nothing Botox can do that a smile can’t do……in fact, a smile does more.  There are so many benefits you can get from smiling that Botox cannot provide. Here are a few:

A smile

  • boosts your mood and your health.
  • increases your productivity level as you are in a happy mood and can do a whole lot without feeling stressed.
  • makes you the center of attention because smiles are infectious.
  • brings you more friends because with smiles, you are easily approachable and more friendly.
  • causes a ripple effect in your environment and creates a happy, tension-free, and beautiful atmosphere
  • eradicates pains because the endorphin which smiles release can cause relief from pains.
  • brings out the child-like and youthful spirit in you. pic204
  • boosts your confidence level and gives you the courage and composure you need to face the world.
  • helps you to relax, warding off stress and tension.
  • makes you super beautiful and more attractive.
  • builds trust between you and other people.
  • helps you reveal your true emotions not assisted ones.

And I could go on and on……

You don’t need Botox to be desirable. You are a pretty, gorgeous and freaking amazing Boss Lady. Be true to yourself and boost your looks with that up-turned curve on your face called a SMILE.

Gywneth Paltrow choosing her natural beauty over medical assistance said, “I’ll take my wrinkles. I don’t like the Botox thing”. This is such a beautiful thing to say especially in a world of acting, where everyone opts for Botox or surgery to enhance their looks.

Aging is a natural process. It is inevitable. Do not delude yourself into thinking that Botox is the cure to ageing. Naaaaaa…..In fact, in my opinion, it accelerates it. How? When you are unable to move your face and express genuine emotions but instead hide behind the Botox mask which leaves just a single expression on your face for every emotion felt, what do you call that?

pic205

To me, that is old.

An 80-year-old lady that smiles a lot, would even look younger than a 40-year-old lady that has her face loaded with Botox. Age gracefully and with elegance. Smile more often and look like you are in your 30’s even when you are celebrating your 64th birthday.

The gospel truth is nobody loves a fake life. No matter how much you think enhancing your beauty with surgery or Botox would attract others to you, people would pick beautiful natural looks any time, any day.

Heather Dubrow said, “Because I am married to a Surgeon, I do Botox and I do some fillers. But I truly believe that the best beauty secret is happiness. I know that sounds sappy but I am just telling you it comes from the inside and spreads out. The happier and more satisfied you are living your life, the better you would look”.

Now, this is some wisdom which further reiterates my point of true beauty stemming from deep within you before it gets to your external features.

You are a mentor to the younger generation. You are a role model to others looking up to you. Don’t teach the kids to be fake or not to believe in themselves by enhancing their beauty artificially. Just the way you are aware of how naturally beautiful you are, help the younger generation believe in themselves and to love themselves without Botox.

Teach them to make the most of this freaking amazing app. Aha! About that, let’s see how this works….

Now, to activate this app,

  1. Put the forefingers of both hands at the corners of your mouth.
  1. Make a slight pull upward until a curve is formed.
  1. Using the thumb and forefinger on one hand, separate the lips to show your teeth (optional).
  1. Drop your hands, leaving the mouth in that upturned position and look at the mirror.
  1. How funny do you look? You think you look silly, right? Now, if for nothing else, smile genuinely at least for the funny goofy look on your face as you look in the mirror.
  1. App successfully activated. Enjoy.

How do you find the app? Nice, easy and interesting to use, yeah? Now, that is the aim. Do this procedure everyday together with the regimen of facial exercises you would find in Louise Atkinson’s article, http://tinyurl.com/j5tx2q2 and enjoy your new look. Do away with the Botox and stop damaging your skin.

Eat well, sleep well, keep fit, live well, smile well, laugh well, stay happy at all times and you would be sure to live the best life ever…..wrinkle-free, if I might add.

You are beautiful.

So what is your opinion on Botox? How has your natural smile helped you become better? I can’t wait to read your comments. Let’s get this ball rolling.

  1. It’s clear you put so much time and effort into this post and I’m all about it! Smiling is very medicinal in my opinion. Once my brother did a personal experiment. When he was in college, he went around to all of the different academic buildings, sat in a bathroom stall in each building, and just smiled for five minutes straight. (He went to the bathroom because no one would look at him staring forward and smiling for five minutes nonstop and think he was weird). After doing this in each of the school’s buildings, he had released so much serotonin (I think) into his face and body that he was on such a high from feeling so good. Smiling works!

    1. Awesome comment, Tara. Nice experiment and I am so glad this is another proof to show how great and powerful a smile is. It is one very inexpensive but powerful tool against wrinkles. Thanks so much Tara. Much appreciated.

  2. I’m too young to have wrinkles, but I know a woman in her 60’s who used weekly a facemask made out of honey and yeast. No other moisturizer. She used to wash her face only with water. And she has almost no sign of wrinkles, so I really think it is possible to prevent wrinkles WITHOUT Botox.

    1. Thanks Alexandra for your comment. Nice testimony and I bet she smiles often too. There are a lot of simple, natural and harmless remedies that can get rid of wrinkles and fine lines and the easiest you can do anywhere, anytime, any day is simply SMILE. Thanks again Alex. Much appreciated.
